Software modernization your business runs on

We rebuild your platform module by module, each piece shipped to production while the system stays live. No freeze, no cutover weekend. It starts with a 5 or 10 business day, fixed-scope audit that's allowed to recommend no rebuild at all.

Application modernization

Brocoders has built products from scratch for 15 years, so the architects reading your code already know what a scalable, secure and maintainable system looks like. We investigate the codebase and present the findings, what can be kept and what has to be rebuilt with the cost of each, and you make the call.

This service is for you if

  • Customer-facing software is outdated

  • Your operation runs on software your team works around

  • Releases are slow and risky

A competitor has shipped a newer experience, your portal is not usable on a phone, and workflows that took 3 clicks at launch now take 11. Support spends its day answering navigation questions.

Solution

  • Rebuild the interface module by module, each area released on its own date, with the existing backend serving throughout
  • Ship a design system with tokens, components and states, so the next 5 years of screens stay consistent
  • Meet WCAG, which enterprise procurement now asks about alongside SOC 2

Proof

We re-engineered the condo management platform by redesigning the UX, adding the features our users were asking for, and migrating every account off the old system with its data intact. The platform ran 61 months, growing to 254 accounts, 20 management companies and 60,000+ active users.

The Software Audit

5 or 10 business days. Fixed scope. Essential $5,000 or Standard $9,900. You get a written recommendation with an estimate attached, and it is permitted to say do not rebuild.

Book the audit

What modernization produced, in numbers

Four stages, and you can stop after any of them

1. Software Audit — 5 or 10 business days, fixed scope, Essential $5,000

Architecture map, dependency graph, security and data review, test coverage assessment, prioritised risk register, refactor-versus-rebuild recommendation with an estimate. Standalone. Yours to take anywhere.

2. Stabilisation Sprint — 30 to 90 days, fixed scope

Reproducible builds, CI/CD, monitoring, backups, credential and account transfer, a minimum regression-test safety net. Behaviour does not change in this stage; the ability to change it safely does.

3. Incremental decomposition — ongoing, monthly

Module by module, ordered by what breaks the business soonest. Product delivery continues throughout. Traffic moves to a new module only after it proves itself.

4. Modernization Pod — ongoing, monthly

Feature delivery on the modernized platform against published delivery KPIs, with senior engineers you interviewed yourself. Around 60% senior.

Roughly $40,000 to $120,000 for stabilisation, and $25,000 to $60,000 a month for a decomposition pod. Published so you can decide whether to have the conversation.

What is yours, from day one

  • Repositories. In your organisation, not ours.
  • Cloud tenancy. Your AWS, GCP or Azure account, your billing, your root access.
  • Credentials and third-party accounts. Transferred in the stabilisation sprint, before behaviour changes.
  • Documentation. Written as we go, in your repository. When ShineUp's acquirer needed the platform stood up, they got the deployed apps, a verification walkthrough, documentation and 30 days of support for a fixed 1,000 EUR over 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Every audit artifact. Including the right to take it to another vendor.

Where modernization goes next

Send us the system, the constraint, and the deadline somebody else set. In 5 or 10 business days you will have a written recommendation with a module-level estimate attached, and it is allowed to say keep it.

Start with an honest answer about what you already have

The stacks we inherit

We take over systems written in these. If yours is here, we can read it, run it and rebuild it.

JavaScript and TypeScript

JS monoliths are our core, and our boilerplates are the upgrade destination.

Ruby and Python

Rails 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2 all went unsupported inside 16 months, and the dual Ruby plus Rails upgrade is harder than either alone. Python and FastAPI backends taken over too.

Data

PostgreSQL, MySQL, Azure SQL and pgvector, with the schema kept wherever it is sound.

Cloud and delivery

Your tenancy, your billing, reproducible builds and a pipeline your own team can run.

Payments and integration

Stripe, Xero, REST, MQTT and MCP, including the integrations nobody documented.

What we do not take on

Java and Spring. Mainframe, COBOL, VB6. We do not staff these and we will not learn them on your project. If that is your stack, we will say so on the call and point you to a firm that does it well.

What can go wrong, and what we do about each one

  • The audit picks the first one on how isolated it is. If the estimate moves more than 20%, we stop and re-sequence with you.

  • Both paths run against the same requests before traffic moves, and the old one stays deployable for 30 days.

  • Migration and feature capacity are tracked and reported separately.

  • Documentation goes into your repository as the work proceeds, and every module is worked by at least 2 of our engineers.

  • Each module and each version is a complete unit. What is migrated stays migrated and keeps running.

  • You hear that on the discovery call, before you pay.
